The topper to Harley Schlanger’s visit to Utah was Jack Stockwell’s show Friday morning.  LaRouche Youth Movement member and Democratic Candidate for U.S. Congress from Texas’s 22nd District, Kesha Rogers, opened the first 30 minutes, demonstrating why qualified optimism, combined with ruthless determination, can overcome long-entrenched axioms.  Stockwell’s regular Friday philosophical pessimist, Paul, was in the studio with Schlanger, to provide a useful foil for Rogers.  He continued to do so for the next 90 minutes with Schlanger, during which Stockwell asked Schlanger to present the European intellectual precedent for the American Revolution and U.S. Constitution.  Schlanger reviewed the intellectual tradition from Nicholas of Cusa and the Renaissance, through Kepler, Leibniz and Bach, to the Massachusetts Bay Colony and Benjamin Franklin.  When Paul said, “This is just `LaRouche 101,’ Schlanger tore into him, as to how what he thinks is legitimate pessimism becomes nothing but an excuse for accepting the degeneracy which he claims to abhor.

Callers into the program were unanimous: We want to hear more from Rogers and Schlanger, and less cynicism.  When Paul belittled Schlanger’s discussion of how classical culture, especially tragedy and polyphonic music, is a necessary precondition for what Paul called “spiritualism,” callers intervened again — one said Mozart is better than modern music, another said that LaRouche is right, only a real Renaissance can change our society.  Another called in to say he was sending a $200 check to Kesha’s campaign.  In the end, Stockwell gave a very beautiful summary, saying that, thanks to Lyndon LaRouche, he is now optimistic, and, thanks to Harley Schlanger, he thinks it is possible to provoke people without making them bitter, but desiring, instead, to know more, and, thanks to the LaRouche Youth Movement, he has hope that young people can be inspired to make their own discoveries.

A series of radio programs over the last two days, with three-and-a-half hours on air, confirms the phase shift which Lyndon LaRouche discussed following Sunday’s vote by Congress, to overturn the Constitution.  LaRouche spokesman Harley Schlanger was on in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 20 minutes; Dr. Bill Deagle’s GCN program for an hour; and two hours with Jack Stockwell March 25  On all three, the hosts reported a change in attitude among their listeners after the vote, and expressed full agreement with LaRouche, that not only is impeachment essential, quickly, but that LaRouche’s emergency programs must be placed before the American people, NOW. 
 
Most striking was Stockwell’s Salt Lake City program, which usually draws a number of anti-LaRouche “right-wing” callers.  This time, every caller was not only in agreement on the broad picture, but that there is no difference between Democratic or Republican incumbents, that only a mobilization of the population will work.  A number of callers had attended Republican Caucus meetings on the 23rd, and expressed disgust with the Republicans, as well.  Stockwell gave Schlanger the opportunity to detail the LaRouche Plan, as well as the LaRouche movement’s electoral strategy, centered on three Congressional campaigns.: Kesha Rogers, in Texas’s 22nd; Summer Shields, in California’s 8th (against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi; and Massachusetts’s 4th (against “bailout Barney” Frank). There was anger about the health care vote, but also more generally, including the bailout, failure to address unemployment and foreclosures, and the broader problem of the lack of principles and morality in politics.
 
The program was used to build for a town meeting in Salt Lake that evening, which was addressed by Stockwell and Schlanger (in person), and by Kesha Rogers (by phone).

LaRouche spokesman Harley Schlanger sandwiched an exciting town meeting between two two-hour radio appearances on the Stockwell program, with audiences demanding full explanations on how to create the kind of change in the population which can take them from rage and disappointment, following the passage of the Nazi-modeled health care bill,  to impeaching Obama and implementing the LaRouche Plan.

The town meeting was attended by approximately forty-five contacts, and was addressed by Jack Stockwell, Democratic Party nominee Kesha Rogers (by phone) and Harley Schlanger.  In addition to those attending at the Salt Lake City Central Library, about thirty people from fifteen states participated by phone through conference call hookup.  Stockwell opened the meeting by saying that, following a death threat delivered to Schlanger, in person, at the radio station Thursday morning, by an enraged right-wing nut, he has decided it’s time to “take off the gloves.”  He attacked those who slander LaRouche as either evil, or ignorant, and praised LaRouche as the one who has brought new ideas, over decades, to the battle to restore the principles of our nation.  He warned that, if LaRouche’s alternative is not adopted, we face a future of chaos and violence.

Kesha Rogers then described her campaign, as an example of how we can bring powerful ideas to the population.  My victory, she said, shows that people are ready to take up the challenge.  The challenge we posed was not just to vote, but to take responsibility for the future — that’s what the NASA issue is about, not just the nuts and bolts of space flight, but about whether we will use our republican institutions to inspire the youth today, so that they can give their children and grandchildren a future.  The audience was riveted to Kesha’s every word, as she went into how LaRouche has defined the mastery of cosmic radiation as a central feature to assuring that future.

 Schlanger followed with an in-depth briefing on LaRouche’s fight, over the last five decades, to provide mankind with an opportunity for a human future.  After a thorough review of the forty year transformation of the U.S., from the promise of JFK’s Moon-Mars mission, to the wreckage wrought by Greenspan, Phil Gramm, and other lackeys, on behalf of Anglo-Dutch imperial financiers, he made the case for the impeachment of Obama, and cleaning out of the gutless, unprincipled Congress,  He concluded with a discussion of tragedy and immortality, and why members of the audience must take up the challenge posed by Kesha’s election, that you can no longer whine and complain, but must master principles of classical composition and scientific discovery — then you can make an immortal contribution.

There was not a single “conspiraphile” question, a seeking of the “connectos.”  Instead, there was a serious effort to deal with what had been presented.  Several asked about the implications of the Niall Ferguson article forecasting the end of the American “empire” (Foreign Affairs magazine): isn’t the crash inevitable, isn’t this what the oligarchy always does; others asked about how to organize people to understand physical economy, won’t it take too long to make changes; there were questions about the difference between monetary and credit systems; and, finally, one person asked, “Are there any others like Kesha?”  Harley turned the question around on him — Are you ready to do what Kesha is doing?

 While there were regulars there, who have been at past town meetings, there were many new contacts from recent programs, as well as people organized, by other contacts, to attend their first meeting.  Many of the newer contacts took information on how to get on the weekly conference calls.

Several newer people reported that they regularly go to the LPAC website, and never miss Off-the-Cuff.  Schlanger showed how to navigate the site, and what LPAC-TV specials they need to study.

Therefore, Lyndon LaRouche today demanded the immediate resignation of Harry Reid.  “Because Harry Reid has now made himself a duplicate of Adolf Hitler, he’s responsible for every Jew who was killed by Hitler,” LaRouche said. “Harry Reid must take personal responsibility for every Jew killed by Hitler, by allowing this thing to go through.  Every Jew who was killed by Hitler, Harry Reid is responsible for now!  He must resign immediately in embarrassment, in abject apology to the American people for copying exactly the Hitler policy, which is so infamous.  He has made a page for himself in infamy!

“No one has the authority in the Senate to do that,” LaRouche specified.  “We demand the immediate resignation of Harry Reid on the basis of his having done this. This is unconstitutional; it’s a violation of law, and, actually, it’s an indictable offense.  Harry Reid has committed an indictable offense in sneaking this thing through.

“Harry Reid has committed a crime against humanity,” LaRouche continued.  “He has consciously condoned a crime against humanity, and this feature of the legislation which he rammed through, is a crime against humanity.  And if he’s got any honor left in him, he’s going to publicly resign.  That’s from me. They need that from me,” LaRouche added, “because there’s nobody else with any guts in this damn situation, who’s in a key leading position.  Bill Clinton has certainly not got the guts to deal with this; I have to deal with it.

“We demand the resignation of Harry Reid,” said LaRouche, “and if the President supports it, we demand his resignation. Because all the Jews and others murdered under Hitler, will now move, spiritually, to demand their resignations.

“This guy is dead meat,” LaRouche said of Reid.  “He’s committed a crime which is not forgivable.  He’s out, he’s finished.  This action by him has finished him.  He’s finished as a political figure in the United States.  The reason he’s finished, essentially, is not what he’s done.  It’s his lack of guts.  He’s finished because of his lack of guts.  He lost because of his lack of guts.

“I condemn him not for his crimes, in terms of this fascist policy, but for his lack of guts in that he’s enforcing it,” LaRouche concluded.
